Almost all teens experience acne when they reach the ages of twelve but sometimes acne can appear as early as nine. Acne or also known as pimples are a common problem found in almost all teen-agers. So what is acne and what causes them? Acne is a combination of all the dirt accumulated in the face. Teens are finding new ways on how to get rid of acne.

Here are a few tips on how to get rid of acne:

1. Avoid popping pimples them to prevent them from spreading to other areas in the face. If you do pop a pimple, quickly rinse it with soap and water to prevent it from contaminating other areas. Applying the necessary precautions in taking out a pimple is necessary.

2. For people who have sensitive skin try washing your face with mild soap. It doesn’t matter what brand of soap you use as long as it mild in nature. Most mild soaps are designed for treating acne-prone skin since they are proven to be effective in cleaning out bacteria that is left behind on the skin.

3. Remove your makeup before sleeping as this may clog up your pores. The more make up you use the more your dirtier the skin you have. It is advised not to use make-up very often.

4. Each day our body releases millions and millions of dead skin cells. We may not see it but there are dead skin cells all over our body. These dead skin cells must be worn off by exfoliating. Exfoliating involves the removal of dead skin cells. You may use a gentle scrub or use over-the-counter chemicals like salicylic acid or glycolic acid. Both are known effective in how to get rid of acne and even dead skin cells.

5. Keep a handy towel in place. Having a towel can decrease the chance of acne to appear in the face. Acne usually starts when you sweat too much. Sweat contains dirt and salts that may clogg up pores in your face and gradually causing your skin to start pimples.

6. Sleeping early everyday keeps your body well maintained. Taking the prescribed number of hours in sleeping may be the best known method of how to get rid of acne. Stress increases oil production in your skin, mixed with sweat and dirt it could start a pimple factory machine. Having a good nights rest reduces stress. Wash your face before you go to sleep to keep it clean all throughout the night.

7. Taking pills like antibiotic stops bacteria dead in their tracks. Most antibiotics like Minocycline eliminates the growth of bacteria. The only downside of using antibiotics is that they could damage the liver and the hair in the process.

8. Eating the right amount of food may be the best known method in how to get rid of acne. Following a well balanced diet and keeping healthy everyday can lower pimple production. Consuming foods rich in Zinc, Selenium, vitamin A and Chromium can actually prevent pimples from growing.

Knowing of how to get rid of acne is relatively simple. It is only a matter of time when your body adapts the treatment you are using.
